Fees

Entry per horse $165 - One time entry fee for all classes includes lunch plate! (excludes jumper jackpot entry) 

Jumper Jackpot $20/class CASH (on top of entry fee, class is a pay back. Rules below!) 

Stabling (limited) $30-60/night. To reserve stalls or pens, text Wren 970-948-0604. Availability is limited.

• All fees should be made payable to BRIDGET STRANG. A signed check or cash is required to guarantee entry and pick up rider’s number. No numbers will be given without a check or cash.

  1. Dogs: NO DOGS ALLOWED!! There are aggressive livestock dogs on the grounds. Please leave your dogs at home!

  2. Attire: Proper show attire recommended. USEF approved hard hat and boots with heel required for all riders while mounted.

  3. Rules: USEF rules apply in all instances.

  4. ASTM approved hard hats must be worn at all times by all riders while mounted.

  5.  Open schooling offered Friday, April 24th from 12-5:30PM. Please pay $30 cash or check payable to Strang Ranch before mounting. A release must be signed. Please contact Wren if you are coming Friday. Controlled schooling will be allowed from 8:00am-8:45AM Saturday. Schooling times on any one horse may be limited if others are waiting.

  7. Strang Ranch show management reserves the right to cancel, combine, or divide class(es) should it be in the best interest of the show.

Class Rules & Regulations:

JUMPER JACKPOT: The entry money collected for each individual height will be divided among the top four placings, based on the total number of entries. The prize money will be distributed as follows: 1st place receives 40% of the pooled entry money, 2nd place receives 30%, 3rd place receives 20%, and 4th place receives 10%. This format ensures that participants are rewarded directly based on their performance, and all payouts are made in cash on the day of the event.

 

Jumper Jackpots will be offered at the following heights:

  1. Puddle Jumper JUMPER JACKPOT  2’-2’3”

  2. Schooling JUMPER JACKPOT 2’6”

  3. Level 1 JUMPER JACKPOT  2’6”-2’9”

  4. Level 1 JUMPER JACKPOT  2’9”-3’ 

  5. Level 3 JUMPER JACKPOT  3’- 3’3”

 

Horse-less Horse Show: Open to everyone! You are not required to enter any other classes or have a horse. Stick horses will be available to borrow. Class will be judged on the (stick horse) rider’s ability to execute a simple course as though they were doing it on a real horse. Flat class or test may be required of final 4 competitors. Riders are encouraged to come up with names for their stick horses:) 

 

Open Equitation Challenge: Open to all competitors. Class will be on the flat and is judged on the rider's position and ability to execute questions asked by the judge. If appropriate, final 4 competitors may swap horses. 


 

WALK TROT: May cross enter flower power flat class only. No unjudged rounds.

 

WALK TROT POLES: May cross enter flower power only. No unjudged rounds

 

FLOWER POWER: Cross entry with pre-beginners is allowed. This is an entry level division, to be judged on position, control, and attitude. Cantering will not be penalized in the jumping portion of this division. No unjudged rounds.

 

PRE-BEGINNER: Open to Jr/Am riders who have never shown higher than 2’. 

 

PUDDLE JUMPERS: Open to any horse/rider combination who has not shown above 2’9”.

 

SCHOOLING HUNTER/SCHOOLING JUMPER: Open to all riders and horses. 

 

LONG/RUSTY STIRRUP EQUITATION: Courses will be set at 2’-2’3. No rider who has competed over 2’6 is eligible for this division. Open to horses and ponies ridden by juniors or amateur riders The same horse and rider combination may not cross enter into classes 2’6 or higher at the same show.

 

BABY GREEN HUNTER: This division is open to horses and ponies which have never won three classes over fences during the same show season, and which have NEVER shown in any class over fences exceeding 2’6″ in height at any CWHJA, CHJA or USEF-recognized horse show.  

 

EVERGREEN HUNTER: Open to all riders of any age on horses or ponies. Fences 2’6

 

LIMIT EQUITATION: Height 2’3′′-2’6′′, no combinations. Riders who have shown over 3′ at any CWHJA, CHJA or USEF recognized horse show within the preceding 10 years are ineligible for this division. Riders may show in this division until they have won six (6) classes over fences in this or any other equitation division (Pre-Beginner Equitation excluded). This division will not be split by age.

 

OPEN HIGH/LOW HUNTER: Open to junior/amateur/professional riders. Fences must be ridden at either 2’9-3’ or 3’-3’3 with riders jumping the same height throughout the show.

 

OPEN HUNTER: Open to any horse rider combination. Jumps to be set at 3’6.
